Yes Eric, your wife the pastry chef, when you whine long enough, creates cookies with butterscotch chips, chocolate chips and pecans. Her recipe is safe, but munch on. |
*Please Note:MANY of our Noir Authors have embellished their reasonings of 'influence'. You'll find their intellect and insight in their ensuing interviews. I've included Eric's logic though; It sums up a collective voice: ERIC: "Reading shorts on the web and in anthologies has been a real eye opener for what works and what doesn't work. And I do definitely find that reading what doesn't work (for me) is as educational and influential to my own writing as reading something I like. I'd much rather avoid a style I don't like than emulate one I do."

Wonderful Audiences AT THE BIJOU ~
Never in designing a show, have I got so hungry as when I put this one together, learning and yearning more for authors who influenced our authors . . . then, with actual requests served to what our 30 Noir Authors actually desired as their Just*Desserts in celebrating certain successes.
The ultimate treat though, is working, learning, sparking and growing with the splendid talents of each of these BIJOU stars. How could it be otherwise?
Four books are on their way with origins from stories written in this show. Watch for announcements from Julie Morrigan, Ian Ayris, Charlie Wade and first attempt at Noir writer, Graham Smith. This joys me to no end.
You joy me audiences, when you join me in two eventful and now happy years AT THE BIJOU ... "Where Writers Raves are Readers Faves". We've stories to tell, author-sensations so swell and more, much more than this, the ultimate magic which happens *on stage* when Authors take Authors the higher.
It's the stuff of quantum.
And on this ... our Thanksgiving Day in America, it's delicious.
Grow along with me,
the Best is yet to be.
~ Absolutely*Kate (who heard Robert Barrett Browning slip me a good line from his regular seat in the third row. I think it's near Jeanette Cheezum)
I always love the Bijou posts Kate, and I have so far adored the Noir in November show - so thank you dear Kate for giving us the opportunity to read all these wonderful stories.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your readers and even though this is not a holiday in Australia it is one I will celebrate in my heart.
Kate, you are the best ... ABSOLUTELY!
Great display on the authors that inspired us and of the sweet side.

Well, my turn to thank you.
What pudding would you choose?
I'd gobble up today's entry with a large spoon and a pair of specs.
It's been memorable and fun.
Bless you,
xxx
Deliciously designed and delivered, dollface. Sweet, sincere thanks from the two of us here. And happy Thanksgiving!
Na zdrowia! K K Ka Katey!
Glad to see the sainted Dottie Parker in there!
Aw Katie, tanks fer de pie and de cimmimmmonan ice cream. Anybody likes Dodo Parker is plenty aw right wit me. And Ian A. you surprised me. I thought you be callin' fer Blue Yorkies no a item like dat tasty concoction youse mentioned.
Kate, I feel so good about being in the company of all these talented writers! You do an excellent job here At the Bijou, a feat only you with your dynamite imagination and boundless energy can achieve. I am grateful this Thanksgiving to count you among my dearest friends.
Thanks for the imaginative way to provide all the writers with their just desserts. Those authors of influence mentioned would be pleased at their impact and how their modes of thought and expression carry on. The mystery of immortality continues.
You have deftly portrayed the widening circles of literary heritage and passion, and capped aptly with the delights of the palate.
A Kate-full production. How could it be otherwise?
Classy feature Kate. Cool to see who all has influenced these fine writers.
But, of course Dorothy Parker's among your influences. I should have known it, *Kate. It's there - just for the looking.
Fabulous showcasing of all us writers here. You are as amazing as ever.
Thanks to you this Thanksgiving day.
May all be well in your world.
It was fun seeing the varied influences on here and the desserts were mouth-watering.
Yea....what everybody else said.
Thanks for giving us a venue where we can write, experiment, twist and change styles, take up challenges and throw down our own!
It's a time to be thankful for what we have, what we've been given, and the friends whose paths we have crossed.
