LICKETY*SPLITS ~ By Absolutely*Kate of Harbinger*33 ~ #FridayFlash delight

LICKETY*SPLITS

~ By Absolutely*Kate

Frankie and Joannie were lovers and OH how Frankie delectably loved. He nibbled her in the morning, he savoured her in afternoon delights and he practically ate her up with his eyes come the time she prepared their evening post-suppertime surprise.
Sometimes Joannie went into squeeze frenzy with the Reddi Whip; sometimes she lathered on Cool Whip nice and slow, tantalizing swirls wherever the heart deco spatula wantonly wanted to go. Lickety*Splits was one of their favourite inventive tasty treat distractions. Frankie would ladle hot molten fudge wherever he preferred a pool or puddle of decadent, deep dark chunky chocolate to rivulet out an audible "Oh My" sigh, topping off their satisfaction-attraction.
Somedays, it got so that the manager of the Niles-Vienna A&P had to ask them not to use the main aisle so frequently. The lines for the Pillsbury/Smuckers TasteOff were blocking senior citizens and new mothers on double-coupon day.

Absolutely*Kate believes in believers and has moxie. (The world needs more moxie.) Her writings and some of the most tantalizing folks she knows show up at the quick flick of a #FridayFlash, on the streets of 6 Sentences, barkering a Twilight Carnival Issu, at posterous for posterity, within a whole shebang of dashing online sites, zine-scenes, crime scenes, print pages and she's even writing some apps for that ~ with The Art Department of international artist/sculptor Tom Antonishak for Apple and iPhone / iPad . . . You'll find her ever under the klieg lights she creates AT THE BIJOU, her double*features site for proudly showcasing writers’ raves to readers’ faves. As half the talent of the duet with the local lit wit, Harry B Sanderford in creating "The Prints And The Popper", a murdery mystery matinee weekend screen gem, she proses her part to double the fun. Writer/designer, promoter/publisher, she’s captaining the courageous HARBINGER*33, heralding 33 authors, 3 artists and 3 authenticators setting sail, followed by five more books in the harbour now. Naturally, she wishes you ~  Fair Winds; Favourable Seas!”

Kinda have visions of '9 1/2 Weeks' as I read this Kate ;)

Interesting indeed.

This was sweet enough to give a girl a sugar rush. A delectable decadence to delight late at night. Gorgeous wordsmithing!

Well, at least someone is getting satisfaction from that 'taster' job.

Cute. If only grocery shopping were so interesting.

Whew! This would be quite the A&P to wander into on a random afternoon.

Clean up on the main aisle!

Funny but whenever Frankie and Joannie staged thier Pillsbury/Smuckers taste off, the Niles-Vienna A&P saw not only the expected run on chocolate syrup and whipped cream but also a noticable spike in cigarette sales.

Well THANK*YOU mighty kindly ANT, STINA, PEG and HAR.

A robust WELCOME to your red velvet viewing seat AT THE BIJOU ~ MARC and JEN ... popcorn's on the house ~ just clean up under your seat.

Glad you great fellow writer*folks found what I spoon-swirled up, tasty. Ain't love delectable when it's served just right? (Hot fudge sauce inclusive of course).

ANTHONY ~ You've given me a hunger for a watch of that flick again. You genre-ate cinema'visions well.

CHRISTINA ~ Your writing swoooosh has always seemed like a lingery sugar rush that catches you by surprise along the way, so I value what you had to say.

PEGGY ~ You may be shopping in the wrong store. You're right - the 'tastering' profession gets all the just desserts.

MARC ~ Your vibrant spirit is showing ... and I like it!

JEN ~ Random afternoon wanderings are sometimes their own best rewards.

HARRY ~ Funny, the manager pointed that out too. Is that a LuckyStrike in your pocket or are you just glad to be shopping?

~ Thanks guys for the read'by

Your writing definitely has plenty of moxie!

Oh, to have some Lickety*Splits right now. Sigh. And yum.

This is so different from a lot of the flashes I've read. It's really funny, and does the bait and switch in a classic laugh-reaction type way. Great stuff.

You should have gone for the double whammy and made them pensioners too!

Very cute, Kate.

Kate, this is both delicious and hilarious at the same time.
Well done!

Exquisite, cream topped, tongue tantalizing chocolate can always delight even with a coupon, especially if it is good for 9 1/2 weeks. Who knew that the Niles-Vienna A&P could sponsor lickety split sensuality. Well Absolutely*Kate did. How could it be otherwise?

Kate, they've said it all. Nice surprise when I dropped by. If there is anymore whipped cream could you pass it on.

Mmmmm I'm hungry now! Damn low carbing, much as I love a nice steak, it doesn't quite fit the bill after rading this!

One little "critique" if I may, which has nothing at all to do with the piece itself:
I find the large, bold font with the lines so close together a little hard to read. Just my opinion, of course, but I think a little spacing and narrower font, like you have in the bit about yourself just under the piece, would make it easier on the eye

Now I'm hungry! For evil fattening things. Splendid scoop Kate!

OF COURSE there's a run on chocolate and whipped cream after this.

I'm hungry for something sinful now, too.

Delightful piece and well written.

A round now served of frothy whipped cream sensations with drizzled hot fudge in all the right places to Marisa, Kevin, Barry, Pamila, Deanna, that Matthew guy, jaunty Jeanette, Maria of Mazzz, Carrie and Gracie!

THANK*YOU for scoping out this scooped up flash and swallowing its sticky zeal. I grinned that you dug into its humour appeal and will now rent "9 1/2" and value the bait and switch technique.

WARM *AT THE BIJOU* WELCOME to ~ Marisa again, Deanna, Maria of Mazzz and Gracie mixin' it with our illustrious usual suspects in the red velvet seats. I'm headed over to all of your places to see what's showin' and sure look forward to You bein' regulars and letting AT THE BIJOU show the moxie and gusto of Your words' treats.

~ Absolutely*Kate

PS ~ Mazzz, 'yes' - a formatting glitch caused that itch - we have a Phantom around our BIJOU who plays tricks. Pretty sure I fixed it up now to grand style like we like to show folks tales 'round here. Thanks!
