"AIN'T THAT A
KICK IN THE HEAD?"
By ~ Absolutely*Kate
(from the case files of Detective Nelle Callahan)
The storm lashed tree branches and grim reminders against the only pane of glass left in the decrepit house that kept his bad form in my glad vision, yet just out of reach; my angers in check. "Check Mate," I whispered in steely return to the jaunty jut of Brazill's jugular as that Palooka whistled his happy polka tune the night he cold bloodedly buried Harry and topped the grave situation with that gaudy hussy he'd passed off for years as a louse of a spouse.
Yes, oh yes, always fear the one who knows where the bodies are buried, the one who watched your jaded climb to noirish fame, killing off hard-boiled colleagues when their pen scratched all the right itches the crime critics were gunning their 44's for. Hey meteoric metaphor man, this tune's for you ~ can you hear the music play?
It was easier than pay dirt collecting for the thrill of the kill of the Brazill hit, releasing Dean's song from the iPod app in Harry's hip pocket -- I just knew he'd lean in to listen -- it was Dino after all.

THE DAMP FEDORA . . . on my mahogany desk
The swift retalitory dash of this perspective piece
was issued on the 'hit' parade faster than Paul D Brazill
can utter 'shot in the dark' . . . But hark! Along that spark,
if you check how Paul and Harry tussled in the mud over at Rob's hangout, you'll know ~
Not by a -- long shot.
Expect . . .
. . . Well, that would certainly ruin the suspense if I told you . . .
I'm Nelle, Nelle Callahan, gal gumshoe of guts and gumption
and they came to me to crack this case . . .
Pardon me. I hear a hurried "Harrrumph" at my door.

Ha - brilliant! Nelle's on Brazill's trail? I can't wait to see where this goes!
Hah back Jools!
Brazill will take any skirt for a thrill and on a trail to hail ... if there's a good storyline in it.
I'm counting on you, dare-devil authors, to pick up on that trail (while it's warm) and tell the tale further . . . AS THE PLOT THICKENS (that one was too easy)
Thanks - Now dig your next version while Nelle ponders. That dame's a damn good ponderer.
Aha! Fantastic! Thanks for that!
Here I thought the curtain came down when I was out of the picture. Hmmm, this is getting interesting. ;)
Don'tcha know the curtain never comes down when Noir is ShowBiz Baby? (Even when it's meant curtains for you)
~ Absolutely*Kate and Nelle, and possibly noir wench Julie ... unless you (of course), have some deeper ruminations from the grave??? ;-)
Hate to say it, but that Brazill guy is wickedly nasty - all his edges are cerrated - I'd be careful if you're lurking in his neighborhood, looking for clues.......
never know which way the wind will blow, how the storm will turn, or what else will turn up beneath those mounds of dirt.....
I think I sense a Kevin Michaels nose for gruesome news on the burial scene.
Care to take a stab in the creepy dark at this one Colleague o'Crime? (And 'cerrated' was a 20-pointer)
~ Absolutely*Kate -- noticing Nelle taking notes prodigiously at something her private peepers is catching, just over your shoulder --
Hmmmm, the PLOT thickens . . .
Hi! The Absolutely*Kate...
This post is fantastic...What a very nice short draw you in bit Of writing and a (very 40s noirish, femme-fatale) photograph too!
What an excellent read, I will be on the look-out for what happens next...Thanks, for sharing!
