THE PERFECT CRIME ~ By Jelena Vencl Ohlrogge

The Perfect Crime
By the lovely haunting ~ Jelena Vencl Ohlrogge

You said I was perfect for you; isn’t it amazing how you could feel that after knowing me for only an hour we’ve spent together in the moving car?
I talk a lot and I am not used to people actually listening, but you do; and I usually feel so lonely but no, not now when I am with you, isn’t that amazing?
No, I have no friends or family, no, I have no one; there are seldom days when I do not feel like the most miserable person on Earth, and here you came, being so kind and talking to me with such a genuine warmth in your voice.
Why are we stopping in the middle of the forest, did something break?
Is that a gun in your hand?
But, you said I was perfect…

Perfect? Well, let's just say she's up there, this Jelena femme fatale from Swedish lands where cold creates a new kind of warmth, the kind that comes up in your eyes when you read a tale that twists and shouts her surprise.

To understand Jelena's short stories, read MissUnderstood ~ Discover a new flair of flare there for better and good. Beware though of her familiar cat and some of the brews near the cauldron ~ tis told there's something witchy going on. It's a Swedish thing, you'll have to ask her.

THANK*YOU dear Jelena for rising like the swirl of steam from that pot of ideas you keep always on fire, giving a share up under the lights again AT THE BIJOU. I notice Michael has a sparkier look in his eye when you're on stage with him. Could it be your charm? Could it be the gin?

Ow. The one sidedness of this was exactly right. Very nice.

The beauty of your piece Jelena comes from how your words hold such a tight gravity. One becomes drawn into your world because the emotional slopes are lush with the secrets we are craving to hear....

Ahhh Jelena, you sat all the clues up in the front seat and drove them all home -- er, into the forest of despair. Perfect title and Hazar bears repeating (when doesn't he?) ~ your words draw one in, to not just your story, but to the feelings there . . . and those which linger.

Thank*you for driving and parking such a twist of a terror'iffic tale AT THE BIJOU.

Definitely a clencher at the end! Creepy voice in this—love that.
I'm excited to know what this witchy surprise is that you've got brewing Jelena.
Great stuff.

Hmmm, the witchy-inclined Erin and the conjuring of Jelena? This 'spells' B - W-I-T-C-H-I-N-G for sure . . .

((Stay Tuned, BIJOU fans - this one's brewing!))

I guess she should have found out what she was perfect for. Maybe she could have convinced him to use bottles for target practice. You just can't trust anyone these days. WICKED. I loved it.

Get this . . . Jeanette's into "wicked" ... Hmmmmm

A wry, sly tale, Jelena. These two are a perfect match. She is miserable and he will put her out of her misery. She had an hour of happiness before she dies, and he will find joy in the murder. It's a win - win!

Linda, I live in Stockholm. Plenty of water! And some woods, too.

I like that, Jeanette!

Hmm... the girl gets an adrenaline kick, wrestles him down, and, being (understandably) quite upset, kills him at the spot. In their next life, HE is Susan from her (Michael's) car. As if coming back as a man was not punishment enough for her. Poor girl.

BRAVISSIMA!

A new trend AT THE BIJOU ~ the RE-TALE!
Thank*You again Jelena ~ You've been a star and a sensation ... not to mention a lure for Linda's next vacation.

~ Absolutely*Kate, thanking you for the practical gift you brought AT THE BIJOU ... coffee wipes for those prone to sputter at their keyboard when reading various tales of out and out laughter (They're on the shelf on the BIJOU wall to the right - I'm sure they shall receive much use!)
